A Prayer for the Overloaded Week

Hi Friends!

Are you feeling overloaded or maybe like you are running a marathon at a sprint pace? I feel it too. Praying this over our weekend. Let's slow down this weekend and welcome Jesus' invitation:

"Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves."

Matthew 11:28-29

Here's a prayer for each of us. Have a great weekend, friends!

Lord,

We come to You today- a little tired and maybe even rundown. The pressures and weight of this past week feel heavy. We thank You for another week and another day, and we thank You that it’s Friday. We thank you that somehow, despite the turbulence and busyness of this week, we have made it to the weekend. We ask that You use these days to help restore us, and we ask for rest: Rest from the chaotic and noisy world around us. We lay the heaviness and stress at Your feet, and we ask that You help us lean into the gentle parts of the weekend. We ask for laughter and special moments with our loved ones. We pray for meaningful and intentional connection with those You have placed in our lives. Most importantly, we ask for Your presence. Would You please send Your Spirit to dwell within our hearts and homes? We love you, Lord and are so grateful to be here today. Thank You for the beautiful gift of life. Please take our overload from this week and exchange it for peace.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
